Before Repair On Process After Repair

  • All kenshi throughout the world who want to extend the life of their practice equipment and protect their investment.
  • High ranking sensei who don't want to part with a set of handmade kote they've had for years.
  • World class level kenshi such as Team USA, Team Hawaii, and others who need to have the best.
  • Other kendo equipment distributors who don't know how to do kote repairs and look to Eguchi Budo(US) for their expertise
    .

Why Repair?
Palm leather, himo, and edging wear out long before most of the other parts of the kote.  A kenshi can easily extend the life of a good set of kote for years, if the repairs are done by professionals such as Eguchi Budo(US).

When Should You Repair?
When the palm leather is worn out (holes) or becomes disconnected from the edging.

  • When the himo break.
  • When the kote head or any other part develops a tear or seams become undone.

HINT:  Never tape a hole or tear on the head of the kote as a "quick fix"!  The tape will damage the leather or clarino material and may make repairs impossible!

How to Order Repair Work
 (eguchi@earthlink.net).
Please realize that we may be able to provide an estimate, but until we see the damage, it may be difficult to provide a complete price.  Once you're ready, send the kotes in to our office, and we will repair and return as soon as possible!

Yes, We Repair Other Equipment!
We repair do, tare, men, gi, and anything else you might need to have repaired!   Have a shinai bukuro that you love, but the bottom has holes? We can fix that, too!  Contact Manager Lisa Sugimoto for details and pricing.

NOTE:  Repairs to any equipment not originally sold by Eguchi Budo(US) can be performed, but there will be an extra service charge added.  Why?  Because if we didn't sell the item to you, we do not know how well (or poorly) it is constructed.  In many cases, especially with bogu made outside of Japan, repairs are often more costly than a replacement.
